Diamond was built by Charles Sibbick and Co in 1897. She has a fin and bulb keel and is of the “skimming dish” type of Half Rater popular at the time. Diamond was exhibited fully rigged at the International Yachting Exhibition at the Imperial Institute, Kensington, London in the summer of 1897 and was then sold and sailed in the Mediterranean and then in Russia.

Diamond has been recreated at the Boat Building Academy, Lyme Regis using modern materials and methods with a traditional look.
